Food photography has become another guilty pleasure of mine, food and weddings! I first photographed this stunning and quirky little restaurant, The Larder on Goosegate a few years ago. Their food and restaurant photos went down a storm the first time and I’m proud to say they were even used in their adverts in Nottingham cinemas.
This time I went back to photograph their new chefs menu, and I can safely say that my stomach has never growled so loudly or for so long through a shoot before. The food was amazing, their new new Chef and his team cooked up a fantastic set of courses – I had my eye firmly on the Salmon and the brownie… and the cake.
They use the best seasonal ingredients from the region and just from watching these guys work I could see how highly they valued the produce in their hands, so this time I wanted to try something a bit different and also capture some of the raw food behind the incredible dishes they create as well as the final meal. The texture and colours in nature are so amazing, paired with some simple compositions and the rustic environment I’m absolutely in love with how these shots came out.
