The Palm House, Kew Gardens.

Last month, Lara – my new second shooter and I ventured to Kew Gardens in London – world famous and has long been on my list of places to go. If you haven’t been – please go, we spent a whole day there and it still wasn’t enough.

I find going to new places with a real purpose of photographing is really important to me and helps me find new inspiration as a wedding photographer, working with shadows, looking at textures and how they could work at a wedding.

The Palm House at Kew Gardens captivated me, an ornate green house made of Victorian glass and iron and filled with gorgeous green palms, the heat of the place hits you as soon as you walk in and even fogged up my camera lens! Theres’s an impressively high terrace which you can climb the spiral stair case up to. It gives you a fantastic view top down of the palms as well as a breath taking view across the glass roofs of each wing which captured my heart.

Lara will be my lovely new second shooter and will be coming to most weddings this year, she’ll be there to get those alternative angles, capture those brilliantly candid moments when I’m focused elsewhere and ultimately give all my couples even more lovely photos to chose from.  Welcome Lara!
