A second photographer or a ‘second shooter’ at your wedding is not something most couples automatically think of when planning their wedding photography. Every couple has their own budget and I know how hard it can be to make ends meet, even at the best of times. However if you can stretch your budget that little bit further, having a second photographer is worth every penny and here’s why…
- A second photographer helps by adding additional coverage of your wedding – no matter how good I am, I simply can’t be in all places at one time. When I’m shooting your couple portraits, your guests are unattended and having fun. With a second photographer we can make sure these great moments are captured too.
- Let’s not forget the groom… we all want bridal prep photos, but what about the groom? A second shooter can be photographing the groom and his gang getting ready whilst I’m photographing the bride (this normally depends on the logistics of the day but there’s usually always a way).
- You’re getting two of me, but my other ‘me’ can be getting another angle, more candids, more detail photos. This frees me up to be even more creative with my photography and really get those ‘wow’ shots, safe in the knowledge the other ‘me’ is capturing the day too.
- I work both with second shooters and with other photographers as theirs too, we help each other out. I only use professional photographers who fit with my style, personality and how I photograph. I don’t even need to tell my photographers what to do, they know instinctively. Because of this, even with two photographers we remain unobtrusive throughout the whole day.
Take a look at some of the shots I’ve taken whilst second shooting for other photographers.
