Colourful child-friendly art exhibition at Lincoln Museum
This week I fancied doing something a little different with my little ones, after a quick search I came across some amazingly colourful images from the new exhibition at the Lincoln Museum, a place we hang out a lot.
Jason and his Argonauts on Tour by Jason Wilsher-Mills
I took my girls (1 year & 3.5 years) to see Jason and his Argonauts on Tour, by internationally acclaimed disabled artist Jason Wilsher-Mills.
Stepping into the gallery space you’re instantly hit with a wonderful riot of colour & pattern, described as psychedelic even. This fun exhibition has mix of huge wall murals, models, interactive exhibits and even…giant inflatable sculptures. From that description alone you can tell why the girls loved it.
Depending on the age of your kids it’s a great exhibition to talk through the topic of disability & how others see themselves.
We also spent a lot of time talking about the colours, patterns and symbols in the artwork. I’d come armed with a roll of paper & pens & my eldest tried creating some of her own artwork.
Both girls loved physically interacting in the space especially with the scale and vibrancy of the giant inflatables.
Jason and his Argonauts on Tour is at the Lincoln museum until June, so plenty of time to get a visit in with your little ones, I know we’ll be going back for another visit before it ends.
