Top Podcasts for Female Creatives and Small Business Owners...

Without sounding dramatic, podcasts have changed my life in some way in the past few months (totally dramatic). I don’t remember how I fell down my podcast rabbit hole. But when I did, I made a conscious decision to start listening to ones that motivated me and sparked creativity.

I first started listening to podcasts in back in January 2016 – although my chosen genre was a little different. I was marathon training at the time and needed something more than music to take my mind off the miles. I discovered the podcast ‘Serial’ and ‘My Dad wrote a Porno’ and suddenly the miles seemed to go a lot quicker! They’re both brilliant podcasts in very different ways – I’m sure you can guess which one will make you publicly laugh till you cry.

Best Creative Podcasts

Although millions of people around the world listen to podcasts, I still find that whenever I talk to friends about them, I’m often met with a blank stare. Whatever your interest or taste – there’s a podcast out there for you. And the best bit? All free! Podcasts are a great way to listen to voices from the people in industries all over the world and get inspired.

A lot of people have said to me they don’t have the time to listen to podcasts. I listen on the drive to work, in the gym, clearing out the shed, doing the laundry (you get the idea). All of this is made a lot easier by another life-changer… my air pods. I’m extremely lucky that Mr C bought me some for Christmas and they’ve quickly become one of my favourite gadgets.

Whenever I’m having a bad day or I’ve hit a creative slump – the podcasts are the first thing I turn to. I’ve now built up a reliable list of podcasters who inspire and motivate and give me that all important push to keep going. Listening to these wonderful people has kept my positivity up and sparked no end of new ideas.

So, here’s a few of my favourite podcasts for creative businesses…

This podcast has given me so much support and empowerment over the past few months. It’s filled with real, truthful insights into running a small creative business, they're little pep talks from someone who has been in the same boat as you. I genuinely love listening to Lola, I feel like I’m listening to a friend and always come back to her episodes to help me find some truths.

The Little Chapters

The Little Chapters is an absolute gem, a refreshing podcast that eavesdrops on two friends, Kayte Ferris and Jessica Rose Williams. I honestly get so excited for each of their releases and I’ve even listened to their ‘Clutter’ podcast twice!
